The Homer Harvey Scholarship fund was established by District 28 and Dr Harvey's family in 1989. The scholarship is named in honor of Dr Harvey, a longtime superintendent who retired in 1989 after 21 years.
The HOH 5K is the main fundraiser to support the Scholarship Fun and is organized by the Northbrook School District 28 PTO Council, with the enthusiastic support of our school PTOs, our staff, and many community volunteers.
Each year, between 12-16 District 28 Glenbrook North seniors are awarded $500-$1,000 scholarships based on citizenship and scholarship. Since 1989, 343 GBN/NBJH graduates have received $307,500 in scholarship funds. Last year the event hosted more than 500 participants, plus spectators and volunteers, and earned over $12,000 for the Scholarship Fund after expenses were paid. Your donation will help us to award more scholarships for the current year.
You can also support HOH scholarship fund by participating in one of the dining or shopping days at local merchants. The events generate a certain percentage of your purchase towards the HOH scholarship fund. It is an easy way to give back! Please check out our events page on Facebook and Twitter at @HOH5k for more information on these opportunities.
Thank you for your support!
